vente-privee.com and American Express partner up to launch vente-privee in the United States
It’s with American Express that Jacques-Antoine Granjon, CEO and founder of vente-privee.com, has decided to partner up with in order to offer American consumers the unique shopping experience that is vente-privee.com.
An unprecedented partnership between vente-privee.com, leader in online sales events as well as France’s fifth favourite brand and the second most visited website in France, and American Express, one of the world’s best-known brands with almost 40 million members in the US.
This unique partnership will allow vente-privee.com, currently present in seven European countries, to reinforce its strategy in terms of growth as well as international development.
As part of this 50/50 joint venture, BtoB and BtoC market leaders vente-privee.com and American Express will be sharing their expertise and savoir-faire in order to provide an unparalleled offer. vente-privee.com will be contributing its understanding of brand partners to the partnership, as well as impeccable customer service thanks to its in-house members relations service (a key factor in its differentiation strategy) and flawless logistical service.
American Express will provide vente-privee.com with access to its entire membership database, as well as its organisational know-how and extensive knowledge of the North American market.
The site will be launching at the end of 2011.
This mutually beneficial alliance represents another stepping stone for vente-privee.com, the world’s no.1 flash sales website that helps partner brands sell their excess stock.
“Bringing the vente-privee.com business model to the US with an outstanding partner that shares our commitment to quality was a critical choice for us,” said Jacques-Antoine Granjon, CEO and founder, vente-privee.com. “The brands where we have strong relationships are excited about extending their offerings into the U.S. market through this partnership and there is no question that American Express was our partner of choice.”
“This partnership brings together two brands that are committed to creating e-commerce opportunities in ways that benefit both consumers and businesses, have a heritage in the luxury market and place a high premium on delivering quality customer service,” said Dan Schulman, Group President, Enterprise Growth, American Express. “vente-privee.com is the market leader in online private sales and has built one of the largest retail membership bases in Europe. We look forward to working with the vente-privee.com leadership team to bring this exciting platform to the U.S.”
World No.1, vente-privee.com has pioneered the online sales event concept. Specialising in selling brand overstock since 2001, the online retailer organises exclusive event-based sales for its 13 million members. Featuring more than 1,200 major international brands, the website offers a wide range of product categories: from fashion to homeware, sports products to electronics. The members-only sales last from two to four days and, thanks to privileged partnerships with brands, offer irresistible discounts of up to 70%.
With 1,322 employees in seven countries, vente-privee.com has generated a gross turnover of £823.6 million in 2010, a 15% year-on-year increase.
